This wine was grown in a vineyard situated at 1,800 elevation. The steeply sloped, bowl-shaped and terraced vineyard faces to the northwest; the soil is shallow made up of decomposed and weathered granite. It is a difficult place to grow grapes; wine from here is dark, powerful and richly flavored.
